The CWWA program involves education and counselling aimed at ultimately breaking the cycle of violence against women and children.
At NKLCSS we provide a number of direct and indirect specialized services to children and youth who have been sexually abused; to their caregivers and families and to others in their day-to-day environment. We believe that child/youth vicitms of sexual abuse will experience less behavioral and emotional difficulties as a result of the Sexual Abuse Intervention Program.
Offers outreach counselling, in-home support and crisis intervention for children, youth and families. Helps families strengthen parenting, communication, conflict resolution and anger management skills. Provides workshops and educational activities in community settings.
Addictions services consist of intervention, support counselling, referrals to detox and residential treatment education and prevention activities in school and community settings.
We offer outreach and support services for person's with chronic and persistant mental illness.
The Counselling team provides confidential emotional support and promote positive growth and healing for individual adults, children, youth and families. This includes crisis response, short term and long term counselling services. The team includes professionals with expertise in play therapy, addictions, family violence, sexual abuse and womens' and mens' issues.
The Counselling service also provides some outreach to communities at the north end of the lake and educational programs in community settings.
