Harvest Share Food Recovery
This program seeks to reduce overall food waste in our community and simultaneously expand and diversify what we offer our Food Cupboard clients. We work with grocery stores, caterers, bakeries, restaurants, farmers, gardeners, and fruit tree owners to pick up (or even help harvest) food that might otherwise go to waste, but which is still perfectly good for human consumption. Community volunteers help us process and harvest this food. We try to make sure very little goes to waste. The majority is captured and made available to people in need.
