Naloxone is a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. Since our Province declared a public health emergency in 2016, community-based naloxone distribution and training have increased.
You are invited to help respond to this crisis by becoming informed, carrying a naloxone kit and becoming trained in how to use one. The overdose crisis impacts our whole community. People use substances for a variety of reasons and could be at risk no matter what their reason for using (prescription or illicit, regular use or occasional use).
Come and learn more with Chelsea Helmer (registered psychiatric nurse, emergency mental health services) and Jenny Hide (substance use counsellor). Bring your questions.
Tuesday, October 16. 9:30-11:30. Kaslo Family Centre (in JVH school).
