MCFD inviting Parent Participation

NKLCSS wants to make sure parents are aware of an online parent participation session with Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).  It is a lunchtime session on December 13th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Do you have a child who is participating, or waiting to participate, in one of the following government funded programs?

  • Infant Development Program

  • Aboriginal Infant Development Program

  • Supported Child Development Program

  • Aboriginal Supported Child Development Program

  • Early Intervention Therapy (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and/or Speech Language Pathology)

  • School Aged Therapy (Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy)

MCFD would like to share information with you about a framework which has been developed to help organizations prioritize children and families for early intervention services. The vision of this Early Childhood Intervention Services Prioritization Framework is: Children and their families access the appropriate early childhood intervention services at the appropriate time to help them reach their full potential.

  • MCFD wants to learn how to roll-out the Early Childhood Intervention Services Prioritization Framework in a way that makes sense to families.

  • MCFD would like to hear your perspective on both the benefits and any unintended impacts of the Framework. These perspectives will be used to help plan for the implementation of the Framework.

If you are interested, please respond to Melanie Foster at with the following information: (1) your first name; (2) your email address; and (3) the name of the program your child is participating in or waiting to participate in. MCFD will then send you the information to access this online session.

Poster from MCFD is available below.
