As the days become shorter and cooler we know that the holiday season is just around the corner.  At North Kootenay Lake Community Services, we are gearing up for our annual Food Hub fundraising events.  From the following letter you can see the importance the Kaslo Food Cupboard has on our residents.

Farm Food Fork 2016 - “Cultivating Entrepreneurs in a Growing Economy”

In Kaslo and Meadow Creek on March 19th and 20th. The focus of the 2016 conference is to help entrepreneurs flourish in the local food economy.  We welcome farmers, value-added food producers, and anyone involved in -- or considering getting involved in -- the local food economy.

Kaslo BRE Survey


The Kaslo BRE Final Report describes findings from the Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) survey conducted in the Village of Kaslo and area during 2014/2015. Dustin East, Project Comeback Coordinator from North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society (NKLCSS), acted as the community lead for the project. The Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute (RDI) provided training, data analysis and report writing support. 

Parent Support Circle

Parent Support Circle is sponsored by North Kootenay Lake Community Services and Columbia Basin Trust.  In addition to the ongoing session at the Kaslo Family Centre on Thursdays from 10am to 11:30am, it is now being offered in Meadow Creek in the North Lake Family Centre at Jewett Elementary on some Mondays from 10am to 11:30am.  Upcoming dates for Meadow Creek: April 20th, May 4th & 25th, June 1st & 15th.
