Hi friends and gardeners!
We're just three days away from Kaslo Seedy Sunday. Don’t let the snow outside fool you, Spring is just around the corner. We have what you need to get your garden started, specifically lots of seeds from
- Old Mill Farm
- Lynzee’s Luscious Lineage
- BC Eco Seed Co-op
- Salt Spring Seeds
- Sunshine Farm Seeds
- KinSeed (native plant seeds of the Kootenays)
That’s six different seed companies that it would be hard to access seeds from otherwise! This is your chance to have a look and pick up something special for your garden.
Our guest speaker this year is Brenda Beckwith of KinSeed speaking on "Rewilding the Kootenay Garden." at 11:30am.
Also, learn about how you can become involved with the Citizen Seed Trials, a provincial initiative to involve home gardeners in 2019 evaluations and improvement of Principe Borghese tomato, a heritage drying tomato from Italy.
As always, we’ll have a seed swap table as well, so bring any of your well-labelled home-grown seeds, or leftover seeds that you’d like to share.
The event is at the Kaslo Heritage Hall (500 4th St.) this Sunday, February 24th, from 10am-1pm. Snacks and lunch from Feed Your Soul Foods served all day.
This is a family-friendly, free annual event by North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society. Hope to see you there!
